Wow...I laughed, I got angry, I cried. I went through so many different emotions while reading this book.
Well done. Two main characters that pull you in from the very beginning. So powerful...
Dawn finds out she is sick....Kate is trying to find herself. Both feel out of place when it comes to family and deal with it in their own way. Will they be able to help each other. I would read these books over and over again.
Out of all the books that I have ever read this collection is one that will always stand out, the story contained in these books are truly emotional, and even though to some people they might seem slightly difficult to understand to those who have experienced something even slightly similar it really pulls at the heartstrings. These books are amazing, they teach you not to take things for granted in life and will take you on an emotional roller coaster with every single word.
This is, by far, my favorite series by this author. Stock up on Kleenex before you purchase this set, folks. You'll need them. Kate and Dawn will make you cry, laugh, and most of all, empathize. As the old song goes, growing up is hard to do and Kate is fighting to do just that. Dawn is there to help her despite her own struggles. Not every author can pull off telling a story from two different viewpoints, but Hazel does it beautifully. Without going into too much detail or giving away spoilers, let's just say that I'm willing to bet you'll love these characters by the end, too.
This series captivates you from the beginning with two very different stories. For any young woman trying to find herself this series is a must read. From Kate's emotional roller coaster of a life to Dawn's wisdom we see a lot through their eyes. These two women bring a light to life in that we need to take a bit of advice from their stories and apply to our own. This was an incredible series and I would recommend it to anyone. Great job Hazel!! And what a series to write to kickstart your writing career as an Author. Truly remarkable.

This book set is a must read for any young lady getting ready to start her adult life. These books are probably going to stay with me for the rest of my life. Very profound.
I first started reading this book and it goes from High School Kate to adult Dawn. I am thinking what in the hell do these two people have in common that would make them main characters in this book. When I started understanding I was a sobbing mess. (I don't cry easily while reading books).
If you read one box set this year or have a young lady that needs to know how important SHE is and that she needs to put herself first. Then buy this book set.

This is a series that speaks to your heart and what an inspiration this is to all young ladies who are trying to find themselves. During our teenage years, we all have our insecurities and feelings of wanting to be accepted and know that we belong. These three books are a must read. They are written from two points of view (which I love).
I don't want to give away any spoilers so I'll just say that Kate is a teenager struggling with many issues and Dawn is her "aunt" who is also struggling with different kinds of issues. You have to read the books to find out what their issues are. It didn't take long for me to get pulled into their lives and remember some of my own similar issues as a young woman. My emotions were all over the place. But when I finished the series, I was left with a warm feeling even though some heartache was involved.
The way Ms. Kelly portrayed both ladies will make you want to read more of her books. I highly recommend her books and even though I've not completely read all of them, I'm working on it! Outstanding writing, Ms. Kelly!
I cannot say enough about this series...the emotional roll a coaster ride your about to go on is so worth it! Just a warning...GET THE KLEENEX READY!!!
